The stories in this board are about Ergos, the Crusader, who will also appear in Battle for Maelaru. Not only that, many Heroes from the map are important characters in his story. If you want to learn more about the world of Ytta and the story around Battle for Maelaru (And undoubtedly more maps set in Ytta), feel free to read, and post your replies. Tell me if you liked each chapter!
Glossary:
Redspines:A weak Demon that has little difficulty entering the Darkener's areas of Darkrealm. Though they are not particularly strong on their own, in mass numbers they can prove a threat. However, most skilled Darkener warriors do not fear such a challenge, and educated Darkeners recognize that Redspines are not a true threat. They are named for their characteristic Blood-red spines on their back, which secrete a minor, but contagious poison.
Cakkrans: The Lowest Class of Darkeners, Cakkrans make up most of the population of the Empire. Extremely Deformed, with short, stubby bodies, approximately 4 feet tall, and sunken-in facial features. Skin color is a muddy blue. They are hornless, and sometimes have hair, which is usually a dark green. Never given much though by Higher Up Darkeners, and considered "below them". The only thing keeping most open attacks on Cakkrans illegal is the minor threat of a rebellion, which is highly unlikely, as their inferior Physical features and their lack of Magical Affinity makes them terrible warriors. Cakkrans life in large settlements on the outskirts of towns called Cakkrams.
Charhoof: A black-skinned demon horse that roams the Bal'litary Highlands of Darkrealm. Though their Burning Manes and hooves, combined with scalding breath makes them extremely inhospitable creatures, they have been mostly domesticated by Darkeners for lack of a better mount in Darkrealm.
Nattari: Large Obsidian golems that have been brought to life by Darkener Shadowcasters. These Stone Monsters have no emotions, and are most suited as guards. They have strength that rivals some dragons, and are feared, even by Royal Captains. They are cold, heartless, and ruthless killers who will do anything and everything neccisary to protect their post. They will only answer to a Shadowcaster.
Venommars: Large Poison elementals that dwell within heavily corrupted waters of Darkrealm. Recently Venommars have been seen on land in Darkrealm, specifically around ancient ruins. They have also supposedly been sighted in Ytta, but these sightings have never been confirmed and are usually written off as fakes.
Tnarsis: (Plural: Tnarsi) The main residents of the civilized portions of the Empire. They do most of the Industrial Work, and farm in regions where it is possible. Tnarsis stand an average of 5 feet tall, with 3 short stubby horns that protrude from their forehead. Their skin ranges from light to dark grey, and their hair is jet black.
Paz'jeel: The aristocracy of the empire is mostly comprised of Paz'jeel. They are very similar to Tnarsi, but stand an average of 1 and 1/2 feet taller. Paz'jeel have three horns as well, but two lie behind their ears, and one on the back of their head. These horns stick sharply forward, and vary in size depending on the Paz'jeel (Larger horns are considered a sign of strength, while vertical horns show Magical Affinity). They have no hair on their head, and their skin is usually dark grey to black. The bones in their forearms and shins extend outward, giving them small, sharp blades on their elbows and knees.
Ijfara:A term used for the council that presides over Darkener cities. It is also used for the Imperial Council, and will occasionally be used to describe other groups set up for deliberation of issues, not always a governmental council.- More to Come -
Fen-bat:A small flying creature typically found in the Dral'fen, but some have been found in other swamps in Darkrealm. A few have supposedly been sighted in Ytta, but much like with Venommars, these sightings are disregarded. They have a flap of skin encircling their jaws and head sac, which they ungulate non-stop to maintain flight. They are boneless, and have a small brain in a sac above their jaws, which point downwards on their belly. Being Herbivores, they feast on soft plants, generally only leaves, while hovering above them. In Darkrealm, they are generally domesticated for use as messengers. One who trains Fen-bats is called a Fentrainer.
Demoniary: A Darkener Institution made specifically for the purpose of studying Demons. - More to Come -
Goblin Fire-Thrower: A goblin siege weapon. Similar to a Catapult, but with design modifications neccisary for it to launch flaming pitch and tar. "The Wooden Frames resembled catapults, but had metal coating all around the top. The most distinguishing quality, by far, was that instead of a rope, Fire-throwers had the distinctive quality of being spring operated... Small, but strong, iron hooks are on both sides of the bowl, which latch onto corresponding hooks at the base of the spring. When pushed all the way to the base, the hooks are attached, the ammunition inserted, and then a crank on the side turns a series of gears that after a short delay will pull back on the hooks, releasing them, and the Fire."

Descriptions in this section will most likely be updated frequently, as they will be reliant on position in the Story.
Second Officer Balligor: A cocky Paz'jeel in the Dral'mandir Military Brigade, who has been assigned with a mission in the Bloodcaps by the Dark Queen herself. Balligor's past mostly remains a mystery, but has little consequence. It is known that he once had a frightening encounter with a Nattari in his youth, and for such is quite terrified of them.
Colonel Tal'eel: The arrogant, angry, strict Paz'jeel in charge of the Dral'mandir Military Brigade. His large, sharp Horns signify physical strength, and are the main reason he was given special attention in the War-Academy. He seems to dislike Balligor, and the Dark Queen has told Balligor that he is treasonous and will most likely try to betray her. It is not known whether this is true or false.
Toron Fairshield: Not much of Toron is known yet, besides the fact that he has been an orphan since his adolescent years, and that he is proficient with a sword and shield. Despite his fairly average intelligence (Outside of Combat; when it comes to armed combat he is brilliant), he also has a love of books, particularly ones that encompass large areas and take him places he has never been.
