I was wondering how to make a shop that sells upgrades that can be used by all players on a team. That is, all players can purchase the upgrades and, if one player on the team buys an upgrade, all players on that team benefit from it.
Ideally, after purchasing an upgrade's max level, that upgrade would disappear. I mention this because I've played a few games where the upgrade remains in the shop but no longer does anything but waste gold if you select it.
Thanks for your help.

Well, first of all you'd probably need a regular neutral shop-type of thing.
Then You'd make the upgrades, and a dummy item that corresponds to each one.
Then, when a player bought one of the upgrades, you'd have a trigger that would level that upgrade up for the team.
When an upgrade is done you'd use a trigger to make the item unavailable anymore.
The difficult part would be making multiple level upgrades, but it could be done with some triggering. I won't trigger the whole thing for you obviously, but I think that's about what you'd need to do (You know how to do all the stuff i just said, right?).

Yeah that sounds pretty doable. A few questions though...
What kind of dummy item is best to use? Does this mean that heroes with a full inventory technically can't buy upgrades? And how can I make it so only players of a certain team can purchase the upgrades and do so from anywhere on the map (i.e. not have to be standing next to the shop)?
Thanks a lot for your help. I'll let you know if I hit any other snags

There's a field on Items... It's like, 'use on acquire' or something. It's a field that's checked for tomes, and runes, and if you set your dummy items to that and no ability, they can be bought, even with a full inventory (And they'll be automatically removed after they're bought). To change the buying range, or the team, you'd have to make a custom 'Select Hero' ability, which is pretty easy. I did it for the tower of Maelaru, since I needed a bigger range (The tower is so big, the default range required you to be inside it )

Hey Rose, I just wanted to thank you for your help with the upgrades. As you may have guessed, I implemented the system into a creation of my own - an AoS style map called Stand of the Elves. While I had originally made several upgrades using your method, I had to remove almost all of them for balance reasons I plan on releasing the map very soon and thought I'd shoot you the current version if you were interested in seeing it before it goes public. I offer this opportunity because I'm interested in your opinion and maybe your help, as you seem very friendly and technically skilled from what I can tell. If you're interested, send me a response and maybe I can PM you the file or something. Regardless, thanks again for your help.

Yeah sure, that would be awesome. Send it to me soon and I can look over it this weekend.
